Karen Heinzman  -  Owner, Designer, Sign Artist

Welcome to my site!   I've been painting signs in the Walla Walla Valley for over 30 years and it has been a fascinating ride!  Starting with some college art classes under my belt, winning a contest to design the original Valley Transit logo in 1983 and whole lot of willingness to teach myself how to paint signs, I began part-time in 1984 inking signs for local stores after my third son was born.  I slowly developed Sign DeSigns into a multi-faceted business.

Ken Goudy from Superior Signs was my mentor way back then and Darwin Turner, from Turner Associates, has been my guide for over 20 years.  My husband, Dick Heinzman, while working as a full-time banker and now retired, has been my 'unpaid' right hand man, and without his help, I couldn't accomplish so many of my projects!

I love to create -- designing logos, working them into an advertising plan including signs, business cards, banners, awnings, sidewalk signs, murals -- the list goes on.  Besides graphic design (yes, I do use a computer for this) and custom sign work, I enjoy grandparenting, gardening, reading, traveling and  interior design.

I would be happy to meet with you in my home office where you can explore business design possibilities, peruse my project portfolios and receive a free estimate after your design phase is settled.

Every job is unique and Sign DeSigns meets your signage needs

by showcasing your business with quality work for reasonable rates.
